Getting started

About a month back I got accepted to go on a service trip to Rivas, Nicaragua.  For me this is a huge opportunity.  I will be helping at a school with 87 kids with special needs, 20 of these kids are not even able to attend school.  So we will be going to their houses to help them learn and grow.  In order to do this I have to fundraise.  We each have fundraising teams so we can work together to reach our goal.  Working in these teams will develop teamwork skills.  These skills will come in very useful in Nicaragua.  To help us reach our goal we each wrote letters explaining what we were doing and why we are doing this.  After we wrote them we sent them out by email to everyone we know to try and reach our goal.  This trip is through an organization called Children's Global Alience.  They have three trips, 1 to Nicaragua and 2 to Cambodia.  I am very excited for this trip.
